Craig A. Vissering -

EL PASO -- Craig A. Vissering, 47, of 375 E. First St., El Paso, formerly of Minonk, died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 10, 2004) at his residence.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, El Paso. The Rev. Wes Ooms and the Rev. Craig Swenson will officiate. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Craig was born Feb. 4, 1956, in Pontiac, a son of Alvin and Joyce Reiner Vissering. He married Michelle Burke on Nov. 7, 1992, in El Paso. She survives in El Paso.

Other survivors include his mother, Joyce Vissering, Minonk; two sons, Josh Vissering, Bloomington; and Joel Vissering, El Paso; one sister, Kim (Dean) Backer, Benson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Randy.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk. Craig was a graduate of Minonk-Dana-Rutland High School, Class of 1974. He graduated from Illinois Central College and was employed as a computer programmer for State Farm Insurance Company for 29 years. He enjoyed woodworking.
